Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense black-red. Just a touch of reduction on the nose of this. Plump black plums and a sweet meaty warmth beneath; oak and flowers. Exuberant and enticing. Soft and full, with ample ripeness and palpable oak; the tannins are relatively soft, and there is lower acidity here than elsewhere. It’s not a notably concentrated wine. It won’t be more than a mid-term runner but will provide much pleasure in the interim. | 90
Michael Schuster | Fairly closed to smell; full-bodied, powerful, finely tannic; sweetly ripe, aromatic, complex wine, long and mouth-coating to taste, slightly alcohol-warm, but very persistent to finish. Characteristically refined and savory, but this will need time to show its paces. 2030–44+. | 93
