Stephen Brook | The nose is a bit blunted by sulfur dioxide now, though it doesn’t lack fruit. The attack is lean and almost racy, and as so often, this is a trim rather than voluptuous expression of Sauternes. It’s intense and spiky, as though not fully formed yet, and there’s purity and elegance here thanks to the bright acidity on the long finish. Perhaps less complex than most of the first growths, but time will tell, and it’s hard to fault the balance. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Deep honeyed gold. Wash-day clean and fresh, yet at the same time enticing, layered, lush, and rich, with grape, melon, and apricot fruits and a grind of mixed spice, too. You can find all of this inscribed in the generous, dense palate, which is lively and long. The spice returns at the end. | 93
