Stephen Brook | The nose is opulent, with stone-fruit aromas and no tropical character. This gives it an elegant and restrained character. It is, however, more sumptuous on the palate, with a slight viscosity—but it’s still not overblown or fat. The acidity is very marked on the mid-palate, giving poise and clarity. This is beautifully composed, with impeccable elegance and balance. And it is also very long, of course. | 96
Andrew Jefford | Deep luscious gold. There’s so much in there that it is just a little bit fiery and unresolved at present, but the level of cream, sweetness, deep summer fruit, roasted nuts, and lanolin assures the wine of a long life. On the palate, it is rich, mellow, generous, and long: a masterly Suduiraut with levels of richness to match those of Rieussec and Raymond-Lafon. Complete and compelling. | 94
