Simon Field: Slightly murky, deep ruby thereafter; a tight, almost granitic aromatic, raw and feisty. This lack of finality is also evidenced, with drying tannins hitherto dominant. It may well be a passing phase, given this early staging post in the cycle; one to revisit with equanimity. | 86
Andrew Jefford: Dark, saturated black-red. Spiced currant aromas; warm and enticing. Some more herbaceous notes, also, with time in the glass. On the palate, this is sheer, firm-fruited, frankly tannic, dense, taut, and tight. It won’t ever be hugely contoured or voluptuously fleshed, but there is lots of drive to take it through a decade or two. | 88
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque; tight-knit, very ripe blackcurrant aromas, with more to give; firm, fine, fresh, linear flavors, good, firm, spicy, tannic backbone, not especially big but balanced, with fresh berry fruit reemerging and showing promise. 2030+. | 88
