Essi Avellan | Deep orange color. Beautifully sweet and toast-laden nose, with some fresh fruits in addition to dried-fruit opulence. Roasted coffee beans, dried and ripe apricots, figs and vanilla. Promisingly age-complexed. Smooth, viscous palate, with a lazy mousse. Sweet, long finish. Drinks wonderfully now but the fruitiness shows some weakening. | 92

Alex Hunt | Deep amber color but some oystery freshness on the nose still. Quite inviting. Really, and remarkably, satisfying on the palate, with a nice gentle fizz, toasted brioche flavor, good saline length, only slightly mushroomy. This hangs together really well, and still has the capacity to refresh. | 92

Tom Stevenson | Gorgeously fresh, wonderfully toasty. Intense fruit, just so fresh, even if now mellow and developed. I’ve seen other 1993s that have retained incredible freshness, so on one level it does not surprise, but on another, every 1993 or 1993-based blend that exhibits this quality is always surprising. | 95
