Stephen Brook | Lime and sherbet on the nose, which also shows some power and weight. Rich and fleshy, this shows impressive weight of fruit without any trace of flabbiness. The sherbetty character emerges on the palate, too, which has some bracing minerality. Bold and full-bodied, this is a Sauvignon for food. Long and harmonious. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Pale steel-silver. Cool, almost raw scents; you instinctively feel that this is the scent of a cooler place compared to its peers in the tasting. Super-clean, super-pure, and that sheerness is a genuine pleasure, since there is nothing green or raw there at all. A fresh, vertiginous aroma, if you like. Bright, pungent, fresh, incisive: The palate is very much as the aromatic profile sketched out. Classy wine with a “stony limestone” finesse to it rather than the deliciously bleak density of the cold clay (flint) wines. | 91
Stephan Reinhardt | Bright, fresh, and refined on the nose, with white-fruit aromas, apricot notes, and herbal flavors, this is a fresh and stimulating Sancerre, with remarkable finesse and perfect tension and transparency. Great in style and elegance, though I don’t know if it is the terroir or the vigneron that makes this a gorgeous Sancerre. If you love Riesling, you’d like this Moussière, for sure. Piquant and crunchy on the finish. | 93
