Stephen Brook | Subdued nose, with a light grassiness and muted fruit. Good attack onto a dry and chewy palate. It’s strangely blunt, and the absence of fruit is striking. Will it resurface? There’s no lack of acidity, but there is little drive and punch, and a panoply of Sauvignon fruit has yet to make an appearance. A doughnut of a wine, with a pronounced hollow at its center. Mineral and long yet incomplete. | 85

Andrew Jefford | Bright steel-white. Fresh, pungent, and planty, with lots of ivy sap and winter copse scents; a stoniness beneath, too. Very complete, classic aromas. Fresh, lively, sappy and intricate; shapely and pure. Perfectly pitched between the mouthwatering freshness of the overall appellation style and the broader, quieter, stony notes that you look for in a cru wine. Assured classicism here. Super, singing wine from a great cru—magnificent. | 94

Stephan Reinhardt | This is an aromatic and fruity Sancerre that is very elegant on the crunchy and coolish nose. On the palate, this is a refreshing, fruity-piquant yet aromatic Comtesse, with fine tannins, crunchy minerals, and an attractively round fruitiness. It is well balanced and probably not bone-dry. Good, perfectly tensioned finish. | 91
