Jamie Goode | Lively, bright, herb-tinged sweet cherry and plum fruit is the main theme here. A rich, quite seductive wine, with some green hints and a touch of floral, more tropical fruit on the nose. Has some herbal complexity and a nice savory twist. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep scarlet-garnet red. Very grassy aromas, though there is a floral quality among the grasses, perhaps from the Viognier. Finally, though, the grasses win out on the aromatic front. On the palate, this is rather rawly acidic, as well as grassy: red apple and redcurrant fruit, with some milled pepper to finish. Intense and challenging. Very much of its place and not without the virtues of concentration and poise. Fans of Loire Valley reds may relish this, but in the Northern Rhône this level of grassiness would indicate a cool year. | 86
David Williams | Very Syrah-savory nose in this West Coast Rôtie: meaty and dark raspberry-fruited. Nice energy and succulence on the palate, really juicy and lip-smacking but with substance and length, too. | 92
