Jamie Goode | Sweetly fruited and generous, with lush blackberry and cherry fruit, supported by some nice grippy tannins. It’s a polished, modern wine showing some poise and a core of sweet fruit. Nice balance and structure, but giving a little too much away at this relatively early stage. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red; opaque. Fresh, warm, sweet scents: blackcurrant and plum, with some oak sweetening. In contrast to many of its peers, though, the oak does not have the upper hand and the billowing fruits are accorded pride of place. This is a brightly acidic wine with satisfactory fruit substance and depth; ample tannins, too. The acid-tannic structure makes it rather challenging at this stage, but perhaps it will soften a little in a year or two. Blackcurrant and black plum all the way through. | 89
David Williams | Intense sweet-fruited density and lots of oak. Forceful but overworked? That kernel of fresh bright Washingtonian fruit rather obscured and fuzzed out by drying oak tannins. | 85
