Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Great, complete wine; an aromatic intensity seldom seen so soon from this terroir, magnificent texture, great length, great personality—will make history. | 97

Michael Schuster | Oak dominates the nose at the moment; rich and full, vital in acidity, firmly tannic, an ample, classic, long-term constitution; deeply, freshly sweet in flavor, gently sinewy, complex, tight-grained, both juicy and mineral at once, long across the palate, very mineral behind the fruit to finish, and withatouch of alcohol warmth at the end. Fairly powerful, fleshy yet firm Montrose, very fine, if not quite the scope of the 2016. 2035–50+. | 93–94
