Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Very elegant sap, powerful yet not aggressive tannins, a harmonious giant that could enter into legend, a bit like the 1929. | 97
Michael Schuster | Black-red; super-ripe and minerally to smell; rich, ample, finely but firmly tannic; a firm-framed, imposing structure, an ample fruit, a nice definition; rich, ripe, creamy textured wine, succulent and sappy, long and very close- grained and refined to taste, very sweet flavored, immensely seductive, very refined, and with excellent fruit length on its firmly tannic finish. Rich and fleshy and "modern" (a touch of the New World?) but very good, too. The tannin texture is chewier than in either 2017 or ‘16—but the flesh will absorb it over time, I guess. A touch of Michel Rolland in the structure? 2032–45+. | 93–94
