BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | There was a tiny harvest here because of the heavy losses to mildew, so exceptionally it was vinified in terra-cotta amphorae, resulting in a quite sublime texture and tannin. A future cult wine. | 97–98

Michael Schuster | Black- and red-cherry nose, with a subtle gravel character; concentrated, lively in acidity, finely firm in tannin; freshly sweet and refined to taste, complex and aromatic, Margaux pure and transparent, very fine-grained in texture, a lovely, delicately cassis-scored length of flavor, with a fine, fragrant fruit and aroma persistence. Precise and delicate and beautifully defined. Here again, as in the 2016 vintage, you really taste a fine 2nd-growth Margaux terroir! Bravo! 2028–48. | 93–94
