Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Much more flesh on the mid-palate than the 2016 or 2017; obvious class, great longevity, a great vintage that will rival the 2015 here. | 97
Michael Schuster | Black-red; dense and fine, and smelling of the terroir, not the year, fresh and subtly gravelly; rich yet understated, ineffably fine in tannin, imperceptibly fresh in acidity, a lovely concentration of fruit; freshly sweet, rich and satin- smooth, an absolutely effortless combination of sweet strawberry-ripe fruit, mineral background, length and energy of flavor. Terrific mid-palate length, and wonderfully sweet, fragrant fruit persistence. A great Margaux, so understated yet so complete. Aristocratic, transparent, beautiful. 2030–60+. | 97–98
