BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Sumptuous finesse, great Margaux, refined texture, satin tannins—bravo! | 97–98

Michael Schuster | Lovely black-fruit nose, fresh, intense, lightly mineral; rich, generous, supple, fresh enough and firmly tannic; ample, fleshy, black-fruit ripe, hugely seductive, you feel (or I do) the warmth and power and slight hardness on the back-palate; very long, all the while firmly tannic behind the richly sweet fruit; long and complex and racy and very long to finish. Density, concentration, elegance, too; but an expression of the vintage even more than the Margaux terroir. None the worse for that? Exhaustingly good. 2033–53+. | 93–94
