Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | A complex and intense nose, great ripe fruit, notes of tobacco and cedar; very full in the mouth, with a great tannic structure but also an explosion of fruit and an enjoyable freshness. A massive Haut-Bailly. | 95–96
Michael Schuster | Very fine, mineral- and gravel-marked nose; full, finely and firmly tannic, fresh enough, a remarkably restrained balance at 14.4% ABV; a beatifully rich core cassis fruit, suffused with those gravel aromas; suave and fleshy textured, very long and gently racy, dense and powerful but remaining harmonious and elegant (even for me and with my prejudices!), and with excellent persistence. A most complete, refined, and subtle wine, its overall size notwithstanding. A splendid, gentle giant for Haut-Bailly! 2030–50+. | 94–95
