Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | We were keen to see what this cru, harvested very early, would give. And we saw... indeed, one can only be seduced by the deep, appetizing nose. The cashmere feel in the mouth precedes an extremely fine, chalky grain that stretches out the tannins, which carry the wine to a fresh and floral fireworks finish. Undoubtably the greatest Troplong of the 21st century. | 96–97
Michael Schuster | Dense and vivid to smell, black-fruit ripe, but not ponderous; full, rich, fleshy, very finely tannic, warm, ample, powerful, and generous, but with the effortless quality that is the hallmark of great wine; a beautiful sweetness, dense without being thick, a real sense of the clay in the vineyard, close-grained, long, mouthcoating; the tannins that are clear are there with no astringence, a caressing texture, then very long and fragrant to finish. A large-scale, generous wine, a mass with ease, another gentle giant. 2030–45+. | 94–95
