Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | A nose of milk toffee and black cherry typical of the cru, withatouch of mouthwatering pepper. The palate, with its 54% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, is one of St-Emilion’s most stylish, with its elegance and great freshness. After bottling, this wine could be one of the top five St-Emilions. | 96–97
Michael Schuster | Sweet and oaky to smell, the new wood dominant at the moment; rich, concentrated, vigorous midweight, very firm in both oak- and grape-tannin; sweet, fine, long to taste in its wood-tannin-dominated style; complex, tenacious, aromatic, and fine, and with lovely fruit persistence, but the terroir itself seems masked by the extract and oak of winemaking. Its usual rather sinewy self, long to taste, long to finish, much patience required for maturity. A very individual style and taste. 2033–50+. | 92–93+
