Simon Field | An ode to joyful excess, oaky, rich, and flamboyant, ginger stem and honeysuckle and an unabashed alcoholic burn. Peaches and cream, a youthful energy and optimism, somewhat fortissimo at the back, stentorian and solid, where discretion in the name of a linear legacy may have suited better. Forthright and delicious now, however. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Full clear gold. Sweet and nutty: freshly made Montelimar nougat, studded with almonds and with little fragments of crystallized orange peel hidden away there, too. Very attractive aromas. On the palate, too, this is marvelous wine, poised and taut, intense, dramatic, with a wealth of flavor nuance hidden away in the wine. It is very rich, too, but that poise and tautness artfully conceals the richness until your salivary juices are already flowing. Not a single false note here, and an outstanding Condrieu to meet the expectations of those who are looking for balancing acidity. | 92
John Livingstone-Learmonth | Full yellow color. The bouquet gives a broad sweep of glazed fruits, grapiness, brioche bread, hints of cooked orange. It’s a sturdy, ground force start. The palate corresponds withatextured roll of fat content on the attack, with pinpoints of citrus during the delivery, the aftertaste holding some breeze of saltiness, a tang in its full grip. This is long, and pretty big Condrieu, for a large glass and top-grade cuisine on the terrace. Decanting useful. 2022–23. | 90
