Simon Field | A luminous perky hue; chalky aromas fresh apple, greengage and a sprig of verbena; the palate is equally subtle, the Viognier personality discernible only after time, with jasmine and a hint of fennel evidenced at the back of the orchard. A gentle sappy lift, energetic and atypically balletic, renders this an attractive but somewhat unusual example. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Clear pale gold. Fresh, artless, gently spicy aromas with soft, fresh creaminess: pleasant straightforward appeal here. This is a vivid, sound, medium-bodied Condrieu of satisfying style and moderate concentration; a pastry-dough and freesia-floral charm backs up the gentle acid-balanced fruit. | 85
John Livingstone-Learmonth | fine yellow color. The nose is deft, if a little reduced, the top air of pear a safe start, withatouch of grapiness. The palate is off and on, doesn’t really flow as a coherent whole, and the finish is loose. I am not sure this will make old bones, and it’s a downbeat version of Condrieu 2016. It lacks a real center of gravity. 2019. | 81
