Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Complex, earthy, mineral, small black and red-fruits nose, with smoke, blackberries, violets, truffles, and orange peel. Balanced, compact, complex small-red-fruits palate, with layered fruit and a long, super-refined finish. | 94
Stephen Brook | The nose is brooding, sophisticated, and very ripe, with cherry as well as raspberry aromas. The attack is suave and juicy, with ample up-front fruit that’s balanced by good acidity, yet it seems rather one-dimensional and a touch forward for a young Barbaresco. Still, it’s churlish to complain about a satisfying mouthful of ripe and seductive fruit, and the tannins are polished. A good balance and ample length should assure a good future. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear garnet-red. Cooked fruit aromas of strawberry and plum: attractive, but a little simpler in constitution than many of its peers. Vivid, fresh fruit in an earthy, pungent, robust style on the palate. Plenty of depth and satisfaction here, and the ripeness of the vintage has been well caught, though it is not the most refined wine on the table. 2018–23. | 87
