Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Intense herbal character with small black fruits, mint, cedarwood, crushed stones, violets, and geraniums. Medium body, with sweet fruit, layered and complex on the palate, with firm tannins and a long, herbal finish. | 91
Stephen Brook | There’s a strange soupiness on the cherry- scented nose, suggesting overripeness. The palate, too, while fruity, shows some softness, though there are underlying tannins, too. Modest acidity deprives the wine of length and zip. It’s foursquare and rather dull, lacking freshness and exuberance. Medium length. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Clear garnet red, with a little bit of bricking at the meniscus. Rather stewy aromas, suggesting mixed ripeness. A clunky, earthy, muddled palate, I’m afraid, though generous. Perfectly drinkable (indeed the generosity is enjoyable) but falling down a little on aesthetics. 2018–22. | 86
