Bruno Besa | Deep garnet to pink. Mature black- and red-fruit nose, at present overpowered by the excessive oak. Medium to full body, slightly aggressive tannins, with a long yet fairly astringent finish. A very young wine that should improve with a few years of bottle age. | 88
Stephen Brook | Shows a deep color for a young Nebbiolo, but not suspiciously so. Decidedly opulent on the nose, with lush cherry aromas. Full ripeness gives a certain softness but there are underlying tannins to give backbone. The mid-palate is energized by a welcome spiciness. It’s an up-front style, so not especially nuanced or complex now, but there’s good structure and concentration, too. The finish shows tension and vigor, and this will go the distance despite the opulence. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red hue, though clear now. Earthy, warm, slightly roasty fruits, with complex notes of undergrowth and wild mushroom behind: a subtle and enticing aromatic profile. Lively, fresh, and deep on the palate, with generously contoured pomegranate fruit balanced by a cascade of bright tannins and lively, ripe, fruit-packed acidity. Excellent Barbaresco that melds the accessibility of the style with the warmth and generosity of the vintage to memorable effect. 2018–23. | 90
