Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Open, mature black- and red-fruits nose with prunes, geranium, rosewater, and hints of leather and tar. Medium body, with sweet fruit palate, firm yet refined tannins, and a long, fragrant finish. Drinking well now but with good aging potential. | 92
Stephen Brook | The nose is robust and exudes ripe raspberry fruit, and there’s some unobtrusive oak, too. Rich and fleshy, this is ripe and broad, perhaps too much so, but there is ample tannin, too, to provide structure and grain. It’s concentrated rather than exuberant, with a certain solidity. A tad overripe for my taste, but it will give pleasure to many. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color, though clear. Earthy and rather gruff in aroma, without the finesse and precision of the best. Full and soft but with little aromatic finesse or flavory detail. A satisfying, fully ripe mouthful of Barbaresco, nonetheless. 2018-23. | 85
