Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Open, intense, slightly animal nose, with a complex prune and fig character, mineral, with forest-floor and cigar-box undertones. Mature, clean, balanced palate, with layered black fruit and a clean, slightly overripe finish. | 92
Stephen Brook | Sweet, delicate, red-fruits nose, reticent but has charm. A medium-bodied style, limpid and silky, yet concentrated, too, and with sufficient tannin to give some structure. It’s forward for a young Barbaresco but should age reasonably well, though the acidity level is underwhelming. What it lacks is excitement and flair. Moderate length. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep garnet-red. Sweet-scented, but lacks a little fruited resource; slightly tinny in style. The palate is a little dry and tart, though it doesn’t lack mid-palate depth of flavor, and this is still a wine that offers some drinking enjoyment. 2018–21. | 83
