Andrew Jefford | Silver-gold in color. Green, leafy scents more than spice or flower notes here, with a clean sweetness to carry it. Light and attractive; a Scheurebe that one might almost mistake for a Sauvignon. Thiols? Intense yet light and perfumed on the palate, combining a sandy, understated, graceful apple acidity with some musky finesse. A characterful aperitif-style Scheurebe. | 87
Anne Krebiechl | Greengage and lemon on the nose have the merest hint of pineapple. The slender palate continues with this same, expressive fruitiness that creates a rather juicy palate. Despite all the fruit, this is toned down and presents a little zesty grip that shows off concentration and dryness. This strikes a lovely and almost austere balance for such a fruity grape. A subtle, dry summer wine. | 91
Stephan Reinhardt | Very bright in color and still with CO2 after eight hours of breathing, this Scheurebe is stunningly subtle and delicate on the nicely reductive nose that shows a ripe and elegant, lovely dense and lush fruit aroma intertwined with delicate notes of weathered rocks and wet stones. The palate is correspondingly elegant and refined, and the intense and ripe fruit is carried on slatey clay plates and with a finely racy acidity to a long and elegant finish. This reveals a perfectly ripe and intense fruit but also the transparency to let the salinity break through and take over the first fiddle. There is a lovely grip on the finish that gives a stimulating kick. Another glass? Yes, please! 2022–30. | 91
