Andrew Jefford | Full pale gold. Sweet and fresh, gentle and elegant, satisfying and intriguing, with some musky rose playing about the undifferentiated autumn fruits. The palate is rich, deep, rounded, almost earthy: apple, green plum, even a little sultana, with modest sustaining acidity and musk, mace, cardamom. You hope for something rather exotic from a Scheurebe, and this delivers that in a wine that is both pretty and satisfying. Very musk-haunted afterward, too. This wine has such harmony of contour that it is easy to underrate, but it is a truly fine example of the variety (and well-adapted site). The finish is long and swept clean by the spices that drop from the broom. | 91
Anne Krebiechl | Moss and peach, lime zest and Mirabelle: even the nose presents an enticing picture of appetizing contrasts. The palate is an exciting tight-rope walk between tropical exuberance and laser-precision. This clearly is botrytized but the varietal nature speaks more clearly than the fungus, enabling a most beautiful, alluring, aromatic edge, as well as undoubted concentration. This has an assured and long- lasting future. | 93
Stephan Reinhardt | This is a Spätlese in a more sophisticated style. Ripe, clear, and elegant on the nose, with some down-to-earth flavors of wet earth, this is a sweetish, piquant, and soundly made Spätlese with some elegance and grip on the finish. | 85
