Simon Field | Ruby with a little fade; aromatics smoky and a maybe touch oxidized... This blows off quickly. The palate is broad, generous, authentic, with a soft herbal backdrop and hints of fennel, truffle, and Provence herb; sinewy but not too chewy, a fine aniseed grip and a savory, gastronomically enticing proposal. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Deep though not opaque black-red. Earthy, warm, soft fruits and a burned, earthy richness here: round contoured and imprecise, but very attractive. Give it time in the glass, and there’s a cologne-like citrus-peel freshness to it, too. In the mouth, the wine is sound, mid-weight, lively, with plenty of mid-palate depth and medium structural weight; there is good ripe supporting acidity, too. It isn’t quite as aromatically refined in the mouth as the nose suggested it would be, but it’s a complex and satisfying wine nonetheless, with some outstanding qualities to it. 2018–22. | 90
Jancis Robinson | Dark garnet. Warm and ripe fruit on the nose. Slightly high volatility. But on the palate it’s fresh, even if a little pinched. Not the most opulent wine. With some exaggerated sweetness. Just a little but furry, without precision. 2017–21. | 88
