Andrew Jefford: Very dark black-red in color. Fine, complex, carefully inlaid aromas of perfect blackcurrant fruit very teasingly and modestly defined, set with subtle, classy, understated spices. Spot on for the vintage—and this is only the second wine. On the palate, it is deep, serious, close-textured, and grave in flavor, as classical as you like, and has good to very good concentration and depth. The coolness of the year is there, of course, and the acidity is dominant in this Dame, so I wouldn’t age it for very long. Yet intellectual drinkers will find much of merit. 2018–24. | 91
Michael Schuster | Dense and persistent to smell, subtly ripe blackcurrant Cabernet; very nicely balanced, medium-full wine, fresh and finely tannic; crisp Cabernet fruit flavor, gently juicy, with the year’s briskly defining acidity; a very good wine, needing time because of the firm tannins but will be most satisfying in the long run. Needs several years. 2023–30+. | 89
