BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Deep red-black in color. Softly spiced, Christmas punch-bowl scents, with plenty of cinnamon and clove bobbing about among the ripe currants. Juicy and lively on the palate, and no problem of ripeness, but the wine is a little bit simple and obvious, lacking layers and finesse. The finish is acid-structured. 2018–22. | 88

Michael Schuster | Sweet and stylish in aroma; full, rich, finely if firmly tannic; a firm Pauillac constitution; ripe and gently fleshy within the fairly firm tannic frame; long, succulent, spicy, and satisfying to taste, and with excellent persistence; this will be a very stylish mid-rank Pauillac, given time. 2026–40+. | 91
