Andrew Jefford | Saturated dark black-red in color. Some reduction here compared to some of its peers when first poured (it clears), and in any case this wine seems to be more meaty-savory than fruity at present. There is a curranty sweetness tucked away behind that broad front, though. Deep and generously cut on the palate, withatextural width that is relatively uncommon in 2014; firm tannins; and a little beefier than most on the finish. I like this bustling, grippy wine. 2018–25. | 89
Michael Schuster | Youthful, but ripe and cedary to smell; elegantly balanced, fresh, medium-full, finely tannic; still young in texture, but with a fine flavor, gently aromatic, long to taste, stylish and persistent. A good Talbot. 2026–36+. | 90
