Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red. A juicy and boisterous red-fruit salad of a scent, oak-framed. Unsubtle but agreeable. Lots of exuberant and very well-ripened fruit here; one of Margaux’s most generous wines in 2014, and as classically blackcurranty as you like (the red fruits sketched out by the aromas seem to slip into the shadows on the palate). Soft tannins provide support, and given the intensity of fruit the oak is not ill- judged. Great fun to drink over the medium term. 2018–22. | 88
Michael Schuster | Oak-marked, ripe blackcurrant fruit on the nose; fairly concentrated, fresh, and also fairly tannic, with the new wood tannin clear to taste; ripe and juicy in flavor, long and aromatic, but always within the clear oak-dry tannin texture, and with a fine fruit persistence. Very good quality, slight marred (for my palate) by the new-oak tannin texture presence and will need at least a decade to harmonize. 2028–40+. | 93
