Andrew Jefford | Deep black red. Gently curranty, plus a touch of wet Labrador, and palatable oak. This is a slightly more exuberant style of Margaux in this vintage than for many of its peers, which is welcome in this coolly fruited year; very fair concentration and ripeness, and more generous tannins than most of its peers. A good medium- term buy at the right price. The Labrador note seems to disappear with a little time in the glass, so perhaps it was a reductive effect. 2018–23. | 87
Michael Schuster | Ripe cassis with subtle oak aromas; elegantly balanced mid-weight, fresh and finely tannic; sweetly ripe, freshly defined, pure in fruit, with a good length of flavor; stylish, refined, Margaux restraint, nice fruit persistence. Give it a few years to absorb its (slightly oaky) tannin. 2023–33+. | 90
