BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Warmly fruity in easy-going, generalized style. Some vegetal notes, but nothing unripe or green. Poised, rounded fresh fruits in classical blackcurrant guise. There’s little tannin, but the acidity is not too lunging and dominant, either; this is an affable, well-balanced wine that will provide much short- to medium-term drinking pleasure. 2018–23. | 87

Michael Schuster | Closed to smell, very lightly oak-marked; medium-full, firmly tannic, fresh enough; you sense that there is nice, gently fleshy, attractively ripe fruit core here, but you are then distracted by the rather prominent tannins for the fruit; fairly short and pinched to finish. Structure dominates fruit. 2026–35+. | 87
