Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red. Welcoming black-cherry scents with a little perfumed finesse to them: light, graceful, alluring. That’s very much the profile on the palate, too, of this Canon, a much lighter and more graceful wine than most of its St-Emilion peers. The vintage doesn’t deliver fruit of huge resonance, but there is plenty of mid-term charm and pleasure here. Deftly done. 2018–25. | 88
Michael Schuster | Closed, but ripe-fruited to smell; full-bodied, fresh, finely but firmly tannic; sweet, juicy and subtle to taste, long and aromatic, elegant, complete, complex, and persistent. Youthfully raw at the moment, but clearly very good, and also clearly needing plenty of time to mellow in bottle. 2030–44+. | 92
