Andrew Jefford | Saturated dark black-red. Rather stewy, composty aromas that lack fresh-fruit elegance and lift. Coffee and reeds. Very dense, but something rather unhappy has happened with the ripening process here, and the wine lacks all poise, freshness, vivacity, and lift, I’m afraid. This means the density and tannins will prove mausoleum-like (though as a fan of tannic wines, I could still enjoy it in the short term). 2018–22. | 83
Michael Schuster | Red fruit and new oak to smell; and a palate to match, medium-full, fresh, drily tannic; that said there is, behind the overall austerity, a savory quality to this wine and some length to taste and to finish. Still, hard work overall. 2022–30+. | 87
