Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red. This Bon Pasteur honestly has rather muddled aromas in 2014, with some mixed ripeness and tomato-leaf notes. Not a huge success. On the palate, too, it is muddled in flavor, though the concentration is good and there are excellent supporting tannins, so it will work as a drinking proposition in the short term. It’s not a wine I’d keep, though. 2018–20. | 82
Michael Schuster | Ripe, plummy Merlot nose; moderately rich medium-full wine, fresh and finely tannic; a sweet core fruit of moderate complexity, restrained and elegant within its relatively firm tannin, and with a nice, gently juicy persistence. Good, attractive, mid-rank Pomerol, accessible early with food, but with plenty of time in hand. Now to 2033+. | 91
