Alison Buchanan: Garnet tawny with an amber rim, this suggests gratin of fig on the nose, mocha and Grand Marnier. The palate is silk-textured, ripe and supple, more sweet Cointreau now, with chocolate notes. Very rich, it lacks a little focus and vitality, particularly on the rather sweet finish. | 86

Andrew Jefford: Deep, limpid russet red-brown. Sweet plum-prune and toffee scents, with just a little leafy freshness behind: simple, but attractive. Light, graceful, tangy plum and rose-garden flavors, with just the right level of oxidative complexity to provide layers of intrigue but without occluding the sweet-fruited purity and perfume of the wine. More complex than the aromas suggested, and a very satisfying sipping tawny. | 89

Margaret Rand: Again, very little nose. Sweeter, more gentle, rounder, more ordinary. Good, but unmemorable. | 86
