BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Leafy and slightly resinous, somewhat skeletal, needs flesh on these apparently youthful bones. | 85

Andrew Jefford | Dark, deep black-red. Another rather mucky, confused nose, alas, with a strange feline sweetness to it and no fresh fruit. On the palate, it is a watery Loire red of little merit for me. Disappointing, though perhaps some would find it typical and drinkable. | 79

Charles Metcalfe | Slightly grassy aroma, with hints of red fruits. Highish acidity, firm tannins, and a grassiness that comes from the cooler vintage. But it’s sound and bright, with freshness and vigor. Probably won’t develop great complexity but will jog along gently for a few years, maturing pleasantly. | 87
