Alex Hunt: Plenty of ripeness, tending toward soupiness, and also a sulfidey note on the nose. The palate has that same green/egg reductive character, quite angular tannins, and not a lot of fruit definition. Not terribly much fun- 10

Andrew Jefford: Saturated black-red in color; near opaque. Some reduction when freshly opened. After a while, the aromas broaden but remain savory, gamey, with the fruit notes struggling to emerge. This is a moderately concentrated, sustained wine with dark blackcurrant fruit and brisk, supporting tannins, but the gamey side of its personality occludes those purer notes for me. Not unpleasant, and enjoyable in the right mealtime context- 14

Simon Larkin: Very solid appearance in glass. Restrained, reticent aromas hint at dark fruit and undergrowth. Gently mouth-filling—this is a bigger-framed example—still mid-weight, yet rich, round, with a deep core of dark fruit. All freshly crushed berry, pencil shavings, and leafy-nuanced fruit. A pleasing sense of poise. Fresh, appealing, loose-knit, and supple- 13.5
