Simon Field | Red-purple color and a nose of sous-bois and distant fireworks; a discrete celebration. The palate is more overtly oaky, hints of cherryade and strawberry coulis to the fore. Sweetness, albeit modestly, threatens to overwhelm the ensemble. | 86
Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear black-red. Lots of oak here gives a scent very di erent to that of its peers: sweetly sawdusty (a bit vulgar, in truth). Very much the same on the palate: a light wine for me entirely disfigured by oak, alas, though there is nothing faulty about it apart from aesthetics. | 79
Charles Metcalfe | Aromas are dominated by vanilla new oak. Underneath, the wine seems ripe and smooth, but the whole is dominated by the oak flavors, and the tannins are consequently rather dry. A pity, since this is probably goodish wine but overly oak-laden. | 77
