BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | A puppy nose, clumsy, trying a little too hard, but not without breeding. Volatility on the palate disguises a pleasant floral core, with bay, spice, and even hints of resin eventually fighting their way into the taste’s purview. | 86

Andrew Jefford | Very deep black-red. A little murky in style, with some high-toned raspberry and dark chocolate, too, but also some unattractive reductive notes. Odd, rather acidulous flavors; not a great success. Raspberry vinegar finish, though in the midst of some richness; someone has made great efforts here, so I am sorry not to like the wine more. | 79

Charles Metcalfe | Ripe, savory, earthy aromas, quite evolved. In fact, overly developed, with hints of volatile acidity, highish acidity, and still some brisk tannins. But this has gone a little too far, with the beginning of a downturn in fruit and hints of volatile acidity and oxidation on both bottles. | 74
