BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | An outstanding sample in its category. This is a complete wine, giving a perfect idea of the quality of the terroir at a more accessible price than the flagship wine. Tasted at the château. | 93

Michael Schuster | Dense and mineral to smell; elegant, lively mid-weight, vital in acidity (a hallmark of the year), and finely tannic; a long, taut, vivid blackcurrant and mineral flavor, very lively, and with excellent length. Sapid, mouthwatering. If the 1996 Dame de Montrose is anything to go by, this will still be tasting delicious in its late teens and well into its early 20s. 2024–35+. | 90–91
