Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | The sample was a little warm but confirmed the refined texture and flavor we expect from this cru. The mid-palate is a little less mouth-filling than it might be with respect to the tannins. Tasted at the château. | 94
Michael Schuster | fine aromatic nose, freshly ripe fruit and minerals; rich, fresh, beautifully balanced medium-full wine, with exquisitely fine tannin—very Lafite! A lovely sweetness of flavor, gently fleshy yet fresh all the while; racy, subtle, taffeta fine, subtly, energetically, and tenaciously complex, all within a wine of great delicacy and transparency, a particularly understated power, and a fragrance on the finish that just saturates the palate. In the line, and in the style, of great classic Lafites of the past, such as 1959 and 1953. Magnificent wine. 2030–60. | 95–97
