Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Astonishing aromatic diversity, mouth-filling but with a very attractive menthol freshness that is lacking in some prestigious crus this year. | 95
Michael Schuster | Rich and sweet and fresh to smell, and very Cabernet Franc fragrant in character, raspberry and mineral; a moderately concentrated mid-weight claret, vital and very finely tannic; sapid, juicy, noticeably aromatically complex from the Cabernet Franc, long across the palate, long and aromatic to finish; stylish and subtle, a lovely wine. Will need time, at least a decade I would say. Guillaume Pouthier is particularly keen to make his wines with a very fine texture, and likes to think of his maceration technique as an infusion rather than an extraction. And it shows in the very fine tactile quality of his wines. 2028–40. | 92–93
