BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Big, generous, and sophisticated, but at least for now with an austere touch in the middle palate. It will age more slowly than the average. | 95

Michael Schuster | A lovely nose, gently plummy Merlot in character in a particularly refined way; a rich middleweight wine, very finely tannic, subtly fresh; deep, sweetly ripe, generous, plush and mouth-coating but without any excess, long and graceful to taste, finely gravelly in aroma, polished, very aromatic, very Haut-Brion. An absolute beauty that is likely to be most pleasurably accessible from relatively early on. 2028–40+. | 93–95
