Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | This 2017 is again one of the successes of the vintage, with initial velvety freshness, succeeded by silky tannins, developing an almost saline, very stylish, silky tension. A complete wine. | 94
Michael Schuster | A ripe red-fruit focus to smell, the 100 percent new wood barely apparent; moderately concentrated, rich mid-weight, fresh in acid, fine but firm in tannin; freshly sweet, long, elegant, close-grained, a touch severe in texture, but with a very attractive “natural” flavor without any excesses of ripeness or winemaking; complex, gently limestone minerally in aromas, and with fine mineral-infused, ripe red-fruit length. Nice, complete, slightly old-fashioned, in the most positive sense, and very good. Will need, and repay, plenty of time. 2030–45+. | 91–93
