Neil Beckett | This famed site was badly hit by the frost, and the yield was so low (the equivalent of 5hl/ha) that the grapes had to be fermented in barrel, where half of them were not destemmed; this may account for the light reduction on a sample shown in Beaune last November, as well as its almost menthol freshness of scent. Fabulously supple on entry—cashmere, as Véronique Drouhin proudly but rightly purred—then a dry edge from the stems underneath. Not seductive yet, but everything in its nature and nurture inspires confidence that it will be sublime for those fortunate enough to possess it and patient enough to give it the necessary time. | 92
