BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Elegant, refined, clean, complex, mineral nose with smoke, nuts, red flowers and fresh mint. Medium to full body, with super-elegant, vertical palate. Long and mineral. A class act for medium- to long-term aging. | 95

Stephen Brook | Reticent berry nose, a bit angular. Good attack, fresh and lively, with robust tannins crowding onto the mid-palate. A firm but dynamic style with considerable energy that compensates for the slightly dry tannins. This has power and grip that almost overwhelm the fruit. The question is whether the fruit will reassert itself with time, and I’m uncertain about that. Quite long. | 89

Andrew Jefford | Pale and clear deep red. Very sweet, almost jammy fruits, spice beneath, and some earthy warmth, too. On the palate, it is not particularly refined or subtle, but the concentration is impressive and there is lots of exuberance and depth to it, too. Pungent and invigorating in the sweet-fruited style, but with enough generous tannins to balance. | 88
