BUY THE WINE

Jesús Barquín | Deep, almost opaque cherry. A second bottle is sampled after the first was showing evident oxidation. Powerful and heavily extracted on both nose and palate, with floral notes and aggressive tannins. | 87

Andrew Jefford | Saturated, midnight-black wine. Pure elderberry and bramble fruits with a little sweet leafiness behind: very attractive. Dark, darting and dramatic on the tongue: plenty of fresh, coal- black fruits (wild plums like sloe and damson), supported by ample fine tannins and fresh yet ripe acidity. Grave and gastronomic. | 90

Richard Mayson | Very deep, nearly opaque youthful color; open, ripe, with a smell of blackberry jam on the nose, medicinal, too. Rather jammy initially on the palate but defined by tannins raising in the mouth, leading to a full but nicely balanced gripping finish. Needs another year or so to come together. | 82
