Jesús Barquín | Deep, almost opaque cherry, with the garnet rim suggesting some bottle age. Evolved, with feral and leather notes. The palate feels tired despite the solid tannins. | 87
Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red. A rather heavy, planty, unrelieved scent, like the smell of a bladderwrack-strewn seashore after the tide has gone out. Not quite enticing. An acid- dominated palate with little palpable tannin. There is still plenty of fruit to hold back the acid, but it is rather undemonstrative, and the overall effect lacks the charm and seduction of the very best wines. Nonetheless, there is still plenty here, and I can imagine enjoying a glass of this for dinner. | 87
Richard Mayson | Mid-deep garnet, turning on the rim; rather one-dimensional berry-fruit character on both nose and palate; sweet, simple berry fruit just about hanging on but falling away on the finish. | 78
